• Is there a difference?

Hello group, I filed electronically using a CPA in the past three years. Do I still send my amended returns in paper? How usually does the IRS take to process amended returns?

      Thanks,

      J.D

      • I filed our 2024 amended return in April and just got a response back. I used the cracking the code verbatim and resent documents through fax, and just got word back from them that they are not retuning my wages, so I have to reach out again. I filed 2023 and 2022 and haven’t heard anything at all, at the same time. Just my experience.

        • Same here, I sent everything in by mail, the 2024 return in March, as well as the amended 2022 and 2023 returns as per the CTC course. I got my refund for 2024, but the amended returns are still showing as received…

@anthonys42 Same here, I filed the federal 2024 return using CTC in march, got the full amount back for 2024 from the IRS. The state has become mute on both the 2024 and amended returns. But, they must be in review, because the state did request a copy of the 2024 federal return. I don’t thing we can read to mush into it other than incompetence, however, I am working on my debt verification response letter to make them prove there claim under oath, just in case.

            • @anthonys42 im in a similar boat six months no reply from them

            • So you guys are saying that filing the return as CTC works and the amended returns not soo much?.. I think I will try the CTC for 2025. Did you guys make every line 0 in the 1040 return? and change the W2 forms deleting the word income? I would like to see how you guys did it, if that is ok with you guys.
