How long to hear from IRS?
I submitted an amended 1040x, cover letter, other docs for 2022 tax return before the April 15 deadline. I have not heard or received anything from the IRS. How long does it take? Are they just avoiding me? Share your experience plz!

Should we create an ID.me account to check status on our Amended Tax Filing?
I’m curious as well. I submitted my 2022 prior to April 15th and I haven’t heard anything either.

It’s going to take some time. I submitted 1004x for 22, 23 and 24 back in mid-Feb. I finally received a notice in the mail on Monday stating the 23 1004x was being sent to another IRS dept. Still waiting on 22 and 24 notifications. Now it’s another 60 days for the 23s.

There is a letter in the Communicating with the IRS lesson that you can send after 60 days if you have not heard from them.
