CRACKING THE CODE GROUP SUPPORT 7 months agoHELP! Frivolous Return Program
Hi, I recently sent in my 1040x and when I heard back from the IRS they responded saying that the another office would be better suited to handle my request. …and that other dept. is the “Frivolous Return Program.” Has anyone had this happen or have ideas as to how to respond? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks…Phil

I had never heard of the FRP before either, but doing some reddit searches it seems this is definitely a thing. The general consensus is that this department handles challenges to the constitution or sovereignty of the filer. Freedom people, is this a scare tactic? How do we your clients handle this?

CRACKING THE CODE GROUP SUPPORT 10 months agofilled out my 1099X forms but it is unclear what I need to send with them. do I also send the cover letter and corrected 1099s? any guidence would be much appreciated.

You’ll want to review the IRS instructions for the 1099-X, since they give the official requirements. Generally, you do need to send the corrected 1099 forms along with Form 1099-X itself. Irs form 4868 is the Extension Form. Easy fill out and fax to the office that represent your state.
